The 2026 BMO Walk so Kids Can Talk is a 5 km, family and school-friendly event taking place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, both in person and virtually across Canada. 

Participants from coast to coast to coast will come together to support Kids Help Phone and help ensure young people always have a place to turn for support.

How does it work?

Register

Registration only takes a few minutes. Sign up as an individual or create a team, then invite friends, family, colleagues or classmates to join you.

Fundraise

By fundraising for the Walk, you help ensure Kids Help Phone can continue offering free, confidential support to young people across Canada—any time, for any reason.

  • Is there a registration fee to participate?
    No, there is no registration fee to participate in the BMO Walk so Kids Can Talk, there is, however, a suggested fundraising minimum of $250.  
  • How will the money I raise be used?
    KHP is a safe and trusted place for young people to Feel Out Loud. Last year, 80% of texters said they felt less upset after interacting with KHP.  By supporting Kids Help Phone, we can continue to support young people wherever they are from coast to coast to coast.  For more information about Kids Help Phone, you can visit our About us page.
  • How do I track my kilometres online?
    You can track your kilometres using the STRAVA app or by manually entering your distance in your online portal. Kilometre tracking is optional and not required to participate.
  • Are there incentives or prizes for top fundraisers or participating schools?
    Yes! All participating schools will receive prize packs to celebrate student participation and encourage fundraising. Students who raise $250 or more will receive a reward card — please see the incentive rewards information under the Fundraise tab.
  • How do people who support me receive tax receipts?

    Supporters who donate online through your fundraising page will automatically receive an official tax receipt by email within 24 hours. 

    For donations made in person (by cash or cheque), tax receipts are issued by Kids Help Phone Foundation once the donation has been properly submitted and processed, using the donor information provided. 

    • Cash donations: 
      Add cash donations by making a donation directly through your personal fundraising page using the Donate button. Enter the donor’s full name, address, and email address, and complete the donation using your credit card. This ensures the donor receives their tax receipt by email. 

    • Cheque donations: 
      Cheques must be made payable to Kids Help Phone Foundation, with Walk so Kids Can Talk noted in the memo line. Please mail cheque(s) along with your completed pledge form to:

    Once processed, the donation will be applied to your fundraising page and a tax receipt will be issued to the donor. 

    Important: To issue tax receipts, full names and complete mailing addresses must be provided for all donors. Incomplete information may delay or prevent receipt issuance. 

  • What do I do with cash donations?

    Add cash donations to your fundraising page by following these steps: 

    Go to your personal fundraising page and donate directly through the “Donate” button.  
    Enter the donation amount and the donor’s details (full name, address and email) to ensure they receive their tax receipt. 

    Use your credit card to make the donation. 

  • What do I do with cheque donations?

    Please make sure cheques are made out to Kids Help Phone Foundation, with a memo for Walk so Kids Can Talk. Send the cheque(s) together with your completed Pledge form to:

Your support continues to directly fund Kids Help Phone’s programs and services for young people across Canada.
